That’s Hedley…

Hedy Lamarr (November 9, 1913 – January 19, 2000) was an Austrian-born American actress and scientist. Though known primarily for her acting (she was a major MGM contract star), she also co-invented an early form of spread spectrum communications technology, a key to modern wireless communication.

One thing many people didn’t know about Lamar was that she came up with the idea of a radio signaling device that is now used in things such as cordless phones and military radios. She never received any money for the invention though, because it was first implemented after the patent had expired.
